Kimberly R. Anderson, LISW, is an ASSECT-certified Sex Therapist with more than 30 years experience treating individuals, couples, and groups with psycho-sexual concerns. After earning her master’s degree in 1994, she completed a 5-year post graduate fellowship in clinical sexuality at a university affiliated sex clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She is an assistant professor of Psychiatry at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. She is a consultant and featured expert on TLC’s Strange Sex series. She is a contributor to WomanDay.com, CNN.com, Payboy.com, and Huffpost.com. She has published in The Female Patient and The Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy. She provides Couples Retreats, Couples Intensives, and Traditional Couples Counseling. She has special interest and training in Evolutionary Sexology and conducts psycho-sexual therapy through an evolutionary lens. She also has special interest in the impact of chronic illness, acute illness, disability, aging, infertility, and acute stress on sexual function and satisfaction. In addition to providing traditional sex therapy, Ms. Anderson has treated 1000’s of individuals with alternative sexual lifestyles (LGBT, Polyamory, BDSM, etc) and has been a champion of depathologizing these marginalized populations. Ms Anderson is passionate about training physicians and mental health professionals to discuss sexual issues with patients and clients and has been involved in graduate and postgraduate education for more than two decades. She offers a sex therapy training program to licensed professionals who are interested in learning more about how to help clients achieve optimum sexual satisfaction.
