What do you do when life gives you lemons? People dealing with rare or unusual medical conditions face many hurdles. Not only do they have their medical issue, but they often also have the burden of explaining their condition to family, friends, co-workers, and possibly even medical professionals. Sound sensitivity disorders such as misophonia and tinnitus are among the invisible conditions that are not well-recognized or understood.
We don’t always choose our life circumstances, but we CAN learn to choose our responses to them. Even when life seems unfair, even when we are dealt a “bad hand,” we can find ways to make our lives work, sometimes far better than we ever imagined. A positive attitude can make a tremendous difference in what happens in your life and in your relationships. A positive attitude is a decision to live your life fully, even when it isn’t the life you wanted or expected. I can help you learn to transform life’s lemons, and create a rich and fulfilling life, regardless of the adversities you face.
I found my way to this specialization from my own experience, when I developed a rare or "orphan" disorder. After struggling to come to terms with this issue, I decided that I could be of assistance to others dealing with uncommon conditions.
