Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I had a 25 year career as a creative professional. As such, I can relate to the personal values and passion that lead someone to pursue a creative occupation that is intertwined with individual identity. With that, comes the challenges of living outside of dominant culture without a roadmap forward and the instability that can occur with freelance/consultative work. (Hear more about some of my work with Tracy Sondern for aging creatives on the podcast Beyond Artist’s Block.) Clinically, I focus on social anxiety, overwhelm, self-worth/feeling misunderstood, career and other life transitions, and relationship fractures and am best attuned to work with ambitious creatives, highly sensitive people, and children of emotionally immature parents. I have a passion for relational work both between therapist and client but also important relationship constellations that may need tending to - friends/intimate partners/siblings/business partners/adult children and parents.
